HDL subpopulations remain unchanged in survivors and non-survivors. The distribution of HDL subpopulations (Large (A), Intermediate (B) and Small (C)) in 15 survivors (gray dots) and 16 non-survivors (black dots) were found to be identical. A Shapiro–Wilk test was conducted to verify the normal distribution of small, intermediate and large HDL, followed by an unpaired t-test for Large HDL and a Mann Whitney test for Intermediate and Small HDL. Each point indicates the percentage of cholesterol per patient. No significant differences were observed in comparisons between survivor and non-survivor groups (p ≥ 0.05)
